Policyholders do not have to pay upfront for inpatient (IPD) treatment at hospitals contracted with KPI.
However, for treatment at other medical facilities, policyholders still need to pay upfront. Upon returning to Thailand, they can use the medical certificate and original receipts to claim compensation from the company.
Flight delay is covered subject to the conditions and minimum delay period specified in the policy.
The Company will pay compensation when your flight is delayed from its original schedule for every 4 consecutive hours, but up to a maximum of the insured amount specified in the insurance policy, from one of the following events:
1. Unfavorable weather conditions.
2. Malfunction of aircraft equipment.
3. Protests or strikes by employees, air transport operators, or airports.
If an airline announces a flight cancellation “before” the original scheduled flight, the airline will be responsible for arranging a replacement flight or refunding the airfare, and may also provide additional compensation. However, if the cancellation occurs due to one of the following events:
1. Death, serious injury, or severe illness of the insured or a family member, and the serious injury or illness requiring treatment by a legally licensed physician, resulting in a certification by the physician that the insured is unable or unfit to travel because it may be life-threatening.
2. The carrier announces the cancellation of the trip due to severe weather conditions that make travel impossible.
3. Protests or strikes that affect the insured’s travel.
4. The insured is subpoenaed to appear as a witness in court or receives an enforcement order from the court.
5. Severe loss or damage to the insured’s permanent residence, rendering it uninhabitable, due to fire or natural disaster.
The Company will pay compensation for losses or damages directly related to the cancellation of such trip, which the insured has paid in advance in part or in whole, as deposits or advance bookings for unused travel or accommodation expenses, or penalties for the cancellation of such trip, which cannot be claimed from other insurance or other sources. Based on actual expenses incurred, up to a maximum as specified in the insurance policy schedule. This coverage is only effective if the insured purchased the insurance before becoming aware of any event that led to the cancellation of the trip.
A missed connecting flight means missing a connecting flight at the transfer point due to a “delay” in the “flight arriving at that transfer point” and there is no other flight available to replace it within at least 4 hours from the time the original flight arrived at the transfer point to the time the new flight departs. Up to the sum insured specified in the insurance policy schedule, but not exceeding the maximum sum insured specified in the insurance policy schedule, in the event that the delayed arrival of a prior commercial flight is due to the following causes or events:
1. Unfavorable weather conditions at the aircraft transfer point or at the origin of the previous flight.
2. In the event of an accident on the previous flight.
3. Malfunction of the operating system of the flight equipment and/or engines of the previous flight.
Lost or damaged baggage is covered according to the conditions and coverage limit specified in the insurance plan.
Third parties are any individuals other than close relatives or family members of the insured, persons residing with the insured, employees of the insured while employed, and persons traveling with the insured. Coverage includes liability to third parties in cases of damage to third-party property, death, or injury to third parties. However, the insured must not agree to pay or accept liability without the company’s consent.
Coverage for loss or damage to luggage and/or personal belongings inside the luggage is provided up to the specified limit and for the duration of the coverage (this is not coverage per incident).
If the insured’s baggage arrives late due to the fault of public transport for at least 4 hours after the insured's arrival at the destination specified in the insurance policy schedule, according to Thailand time, coverage will be provided.
In the event that the insured rents a car for driving within the country and an accident occurs, and the insured is legally liable, they must compensate for the damage caused to the rented vehicle as a result of that accident. The company will pay compensation for the deductible for risks covered under the motor vehicle insurance policy during the rental period, which the insured has paid, but not exceeding the amount specified in the insurance policy schedule.
